Synthetic Rubber

General-purpose and speciality elastomers from the same producer base as our carbon black: butadiene rubber, emulsion and solution SBR, SBS / SIS / SEBS thermoplastic elastomers, butyl and halobutyl, and nitrile rubber. Baled 25 kg in PE-lined paper bags, or 1050 kg in crates for automated feeding — Mooney viscosity and bound-styrene content reported per lot on the COA.

Butadiene Rubber (BR)

High-cis polybutadiene for tyre compounds, impact modification and footwear: the highest resilience and abrasion resistance of the general-purpose rubbers, with better low-temperature flex than natural rubber.

BR is supplied as colourless to pale bales in PE-lined paper bags of 25 kg net, or wooden / steel crates of 1050 kg net for automatic feeding lines. Store below 10 bales high, away from sunlight.

Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR)

Emulsion SBR for tyres and general rubber goods, and solution SBR for low rolling-resistance tread compounds. Bound styrene and Mooney viscosity are the two numbers that decide cure behaviour and hysteresis.

SBR1507ML(1+4)100°C 36±6, bound styrene 23.5±1.0%, volatile ≤0.90%25kg bag / 1050kg crateSponge, rubber sheeting, footwear, injection-moulded industrial goods
SBR1516High bound styrene, non-oil-extended; Mooney per grade25kg bag / 1050kg crateTyre treads requiring wet grip and braking performance
SBR1712 (oil extended)Oil-extended 37.5 phr, Mooney per grade25kg bag / 1050kg crateHigh-performance tread compounds, processing-sensitive mixes
SSBR (solution polymerised)Styrene and vinyl content per grade; Mooney 40–60 range25kg bag / 1050kg crateLow rolling-resistance tyre treads, high-grip compounds, footwear

Grades are tested with ASTM IRB No.7 reference compound; tensile strength and 300% modulus are reported at 145 °C for 25, 35 and 50 minutes. Tell us the target hardness and hysteresis and we will shortlist the grade.

Thermoplastic Elastomers — SBS / SIS / SEBS

Styrenic block copolymers: SBS for footwear compounds, adhesives and asphalt modification, SIS for hot-melt adhesives, SEBS when the compound has to survive UV, heat and oil.

Packed in PE-lined paper bags of 15 or 20 kg. SBS is supplied as porous crumbs or pellets and does not need vulcanisation — processing scrap can be re-used.

Butyl & Halobutyl Rubber

Isobutylene-isoprene copolymer with the lowest air permeability of any commercial rubber, plus the brominated grade for co-vulcanisation with diene rubbers in tyre inner liners.

Butyl bales are packed in PE-lined paper bags of 25 kg or crates of 1050 kg. Storage away from heat and light; the product is odourless and non-staining.

Nitrile Rubber (NBR)

Butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer, specified by acrylonitrile content: the higher the AN level, the better the oil and fuel resistance and the lower the low-temperature flex.
